You have the eyes of a hawk. You're very much aware
about your surroundings and the situations that
you're in. People can't touch your things
because you would immediately notice what's
been touched or what's missing. You can analyze
people's thoughts and actions quite well.
That's good for you. Don't lose that sharp
vision of yours.

lessee now. hot. yeah. have me own room finally!! whee! can study in air conditioned comfort. and the computer no longer distracts, neither does the piano. its the thought of climbing up 27 stairs to get to the piano that kinda makes its appeal fizzle a bit. but still. nice place mm. close enough to school and 4 years too late :| waag. havent studied properly, am going to fail o levels. the continuous lament of all sec 4s. apart from the confident and the prepared.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.

just to let you all know that i no longer have a workable phone. damn rainy sundays.
phone slips, bounces on and through drain grille. subsequent tearing up of drain covers ensues, after which panicked wiping commences. when battery is stupidly replaced after much wiping the thing suddenly connects and goes 'fzzt'.
my parents consider this a sign from god that i should eliminate all distractions. i just consider it a bloody annoyance.
for crying out loud, we lack coin phones in our school.

after what i did for my prelims, this will likely be the last time i'm posting for a while.
rach 2 was nice :) however dennis lee was drowned out for quite a bit :( dvorak was invigorating, so to speak. you can hear the brahms.
rachmaninoff has HUGE hands. the notes he can play are crazy. left hand C-Eflat-G-C-G and right hand (2nd finger)C-(thumb)E-G-C-E. try that and see where it gets you. *grin* see if you can take a photo.
jinin should learn to calm down >? see, it wasnt so bad was it? jinin now happy :) see its good for you.
nyupnyup. study time. goodnight.
am i alone because i choose to?

ugh. me being smart, went running for about 4-ish km after sleeping at 4 that morning and waking up at 12 and getting out of bed at 1. fell asleep talking about taking up the saxaphone or something and listening to brubeck :) attempting to get jinin out from under the table is an exercise in...perseverence? futility? oh well. mr cow is solid. really really solid. an effective bludgeon, really.
lets see...concert was. um. well. the pianist was good, but the orchestra...could use some improvement. *sigh* the first piece sounded strained. the horn solo in the rach was...not accurate shall we say? put it this way. jinin was about to cry after the first movement. and we walked out in the intermission. but sherbakov rules.
pop down for gelato and stuff. whee.
mood of the moment - mmf.
music of the moment - moszkowsky - study in g minor

oh gods telescopes can be hazardous to your health.
went to the science centre yesterday to see if we could see mars, and we brought brother's telescope along. we happily set it up and before we know it, people are queueing up to look through. possibly because there's another astronomist near us and he's got a LOONG queue. it stretches all the way to the entrance of the omnimax theatre.
spent almost the whole time looking through telescopes, adjusting telescope and trying to manage queue. there will always be people who will try to cut queue, and when you tell them to line up, they look at you as if cutting in was the last thing on their minds. then they try again when you're trying to manage other people. but then again, there always are the people who will thank you for letting them see through the telescope, even though mars was a steadily decreasing white dot. i think the nicest people were the ones who were just missed when i stopped the line - they didnt make a huge fuss when i explained to them that i simply couldnt let them in, but they asked me to let the girl behind them in. a great difference to the lady about 5-8 people down who was making a huge fuss that "it wasnt fair" that we were stopping her and asked us to let her through because she "was so near the front anyway".
i am really not cut out for pr work.
its all in the mind, if it comes to that. people come expecting to see mars, even if its just a white dot, and they are willing to spend 2 hours in line just to have the ability to say to their friends that "i saw mars through a telescope!". and that's what they get. even if they come away complaining that its just a white dot. c'mon, listen to what we've been yelling at the queue for the past few minutes. :|
total exhaustion - swensens for starvation cure. time got back - 2 am. amazingly i was the first for choir. :| stoned, stoned, stoned.
mmmmmm.

todays poem was a good one. don marquis' the lesson of the moth. wanted to write something along those lines, but since it's already been written...ah well. apparently we got it all wrong. archy wasnt a person, he was (i quote) "a cockroach who had been a poet in a previous incarnation. To write he must leap headfirst onto the keys of a typewriter, and thus is unable to capitalize his letters."
i find that amusing. where the hell does he get a typewriter? oh wait. just found out. its don marquis'. duh.
the poems here are nice.
You have used up the years and they have used up you,
and still, and still, you have not written the poem
but at the same time i wish
there was something i wanted
as badly as he wanted to fry himself
i dunno. i ask you this question that's been worrying me for the past month at least. what do you live for?

revelations of the day:
i know what octarine looks like now. the greeny-purple colour you get when your visual purple has been bleached, notably due to a camera flash about half a meter away.
the pictures are...amusing. the cow looks strangled. :P
playstation might be of prarie dog descent. it looks like one, stands up on its hind legs like one...heck. all it needs is some dye and little black circles around its eyes.
facial expressions of people eating liquorice smints are very, very, VERY amusing. i think i poisoned half the class today.

hamsters dont last long in my house. playstation (yes that's its name now) was here only 2-3 days and it ran off. stupid hamster daschund. it looks like a hamster version of a sausage dog :| but we found it.
it likes to stay still. which suits me fine. it stays on my shirt, gets tangled in my hair and swears. really.

this is pretty kickass. seriously.
blah. i have found a good anti-sleep method. its called smint liquorice mints. they look like smints dropped in ink, or "lizard droppings" to quote a few people. it is a VERY good deterrent. i have only fallen asleep once in class, and that was because i wanted to. those who know me would know how amazing this is. and those who have tried it will also know why it is so effective. put it this way. all of them spat it out. or swallowed it really really fast. the taste can remain for 12 hours, which is not a nice experience.
arg. maybe i should just sleep early.

erg. just saw some of mom's work pictures. suffice it to say that you shouldnt see them just after lunch.
in any case. thanks very much for the surprise b'day party :P and the cute gifts :P mom saw the hamster shirt and started laughing so hard she had to wipe her eyes. dad is referring to playstation (or whatever you want to call it) as "another bundle of trouble". but its cute! and its gentle, which gets parents approval as they have been bitten by other 3 little terrors more times than they care to remember (human or otherwise). thanks again :)
now have to go down to gelateria to get mom's birthday...ice cream. we're sticking candles in it :P

oh my god. never try to do amaths with a headache and brasses playing the same thing over and over and over again in a stuffy classroom.
i find rasputin in anastasia absurdly hilarious.
hmm. apparently perfect pitch is rare - 1 in 100 people have it, supposedly. brother and i freaking mom out by naming notes on the piano. she got a little wild around the eyes.
ohhh. headache. and i cant sleep in tomorrow because of open house. yay.

little introspective thoughts keep popping up in my mind. like presents. they're indicative of possiveness - we give things to people because we want them to remember us, to have something to remind them of us and to (semi-)permanently tie them to us. its kind of like a bond, only out of friendship (usually). but then again, there is already a bond in friendship. just that this gift gives it a physical aspect. and then there's objectivity, and how you cant be ever truly objective. merely by observing something, you affect it. like history. you write history, but you have inherent biasness and viewpoints already so no matter what you do, its always gonna be subjective. which is why we have provenance in history tests and stuff, but that's beside the point. even by writing down facts you cant be objective. language itself is subjective, what with connotations and all. like acedia is different from apathy, and mercurial different from pmsy, but you get what i mean. and viewpoints - you could have different viewpoints of the same scene, because what you see is what you -think- you see, not what is real. ever wondered what it would like to be, say, a fly? you'll never know even if you change into a fly, because you're understanding a fly's experiences based on your own human experiences. you can never know what it will be like to be a fly. or someone else.
And it's been whispered and said
by the mouths of the dead
that the piper will lead us to reason.
Close your eyes - he'll come soon
let your mind call the tune
and your feet tread the path down to treason.

well. been dead to the world these past few days. lessee now. thursday was atomic jaya. BLOODY funny. mahatir was...implicitly lampooned. they plan to go on to malaysia next. i must say they're daring. *grin*
friday was...concert. the violinist was really good. i mean, his encore piece was clear, no squeaking to set you on edge and no fuzzy double or triple stops. no wonder he's fixed fourth chair. kind of like the fourth first violinist. missed abigail's weber, but saw her mozart's concerto. her arms are...skinny. like sticks. i mean, the first thing i thought when i saw her was how was she gonna bang the big chords. and my teacher claims her ending was "insipid". you couldnt tell if the ending came. oh well.
saturday was...oh yes. today. apm. interesting. nice poems and stuff. ITS DUKE ELLINGTON'S it DON'T MEAN A THING! not it ain't mean a thing. jeez. anyways. nice nice. i think the food gave me a stomachache. mebbe it was the kaya thing.
the house is coming along nicely. good view...but i think mom's room is gonna be like a greenhouse. i mean, all that glass is nice for the view, but not good for the temperature. i like the skylight. ANYWAYS.
mm. slept for 12 hours. felt shitty. still feel shitty. on friday was on the hyperalertness you get when you go through sleepiness and out the other side. like there's this big ball of tiredness in your head but you're awake despite it all...

on ny arts fest t-shirts.
you ask why we have to wear them
i say because the school probably wants a show of solidarity
you say that thats just beautiful. espousing arts while supressing individualism.
what a wonderful world
i'm inclined to agree.
i'm an arguer? not a debater? whats the difference?

rmun is over. whoopee. sc is fun. especially with the crisis. dorks, hmph. eating our women and raping our food. double hmph. people going up there to make sweeping statements and inciting multiple right to replys. i have nothing to say.
fashion parade bombed. oh well. at least i got something out of it.
our sec-gen is amusing.
car air freshner is not supposed to be sprayed on people. it will cause...detrimental reactions.
rmun consists of going up to the mike, making an ass-fool of yourself and crapping like hell.
sc people rock. the moderators and all yupyup.
my team is fun :) witchy. yow.
rmun is tiring. duh.
acs boys are full of puns.
fashion parade can also be used as an excuse...*cough*
sc is really docile. there was only one working paper on the floor at any one time because only one person was hardworking enough to do it :P yay for 10 minute caucuses and closing motions before they start!
rmun can be sobering. hope the guy's ok.
now to get back to work.
i do not have an accent. but, oh, thanks to arguing with SOMEONE about it, my accent changed about 50 odd times in that conversation.
just finished potter. good.

had the most effective wakeup call in my entire life this morning. it was along the lines of "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN BED?! YOU HAVE CHINESE O LEVELS TODAY!!"
wake up, rush out, panic, have vasovagal attack, run.
then stone in the exam room for 45 mins or so waiting for it to start.
jinin went mad over ashkenazy again, and the phantom of the opera.
oh well. dont want to think about it the chinese ting li any more.

have the grand-ancestor of all damn headaches from trying to fix the blasted freaking router for five freaking hours. admittedly was reading the butlerian jihad at the same time, which may have accounted for the grand-ancestor headache.
i have never, ever, in my whole damn life, been so glad to see a prompt box. :|

advisable to ensure parents and impressionable and loose-mouthed siblings are out of earshot.

mm.63 new email messages. and sunburns. go-karting is fun! unless you're stupid like me and dont put the visor down...
the monkeys at the andaman are really aggressive. they're macaques, and if you go out onto the balcony to eat, within 3 minutes you're surrounded by 6 monkeys. 2 males, 2 females and 2 juveniles. they're all delinquents. and they sit in..obscene postures. you even get to see a nature lesson *cough*.
contact adhesive is hell to get off your fingers.
ok. time to do catching up. i dread having to sleep on sunburns. argle. yow.

whee! snorkeling is good! but seawater gets in your mouth a lot (and tastes bad) and occasionally you cough and gag because you think you dont have enough air. but the corals are nice! saw 4-5 sea slugs (they all look the same), angel fish, clown fish (hello nemo!), parrot fish, fish-that-look-like-parrot-fish, x-ray fish, fish-that-look-like-x-ray-fish, sea urchin (spiky), sea anemone, and brains.
whee! and spent a long time swimming. sleeping in the shallow end of the pool is nice. but if you sleep on the deck chair, you get slowly roasted. mmmf.
oh, and i nearly forgot. to quote my dad, malaysia is the only place that rents cars on an empty to empty basis. you have to fill it up. and they get free petrol. malaysia definately boleh. :|
mmm. pleasantly tired.
thinking of you...

oooooh. i LOVE this hotel! langkawi rules! lots of flora and fauna and stuff :) points to note:
- albino fish are scary-ish
- little kittens that are really young and small make the family go daft over them
- dad likes to go down the winding road really fast ("ahh! no road! no road! i dont see any road!")
- the andaman is LOVELY. like, opulence to the max.
- the food is good. the roads, however, practically guarantee that you'll lose it :|
- crabs are cute. :| we found hermit crab shells. unfortunately they were occupied. one was returned to sea. the other accompanied us to dinner. then brother guilty of not letting it go put it back. what were you thinking...:P
- its hot. HOT hot. but its cool up on the mountian. and i'm really unfit. woo. wobbly legs after climbing steps.
- they have nice computers here.
uh. cant remember what else. will post more. probably when i come back.
strange dreams.....

# Find a sword, and people will follow you. People wielding morning stars, for instance, have rarely led anyone to glory.
# The strongest person in any group will usually have the intellectual capacity of soup. Note that this rule also applies to real life.
# While it is true that death is merely a minor setback for the average video game character, there is one driving force capable of inflicting it far beyond the realm of redemption. This force is known only as "The Plot".
# If you don’t fix the problem, then nobody ever will. For example: Timmy has fallen down the well. If you don’t rescue him, then nobody ever will, even over the course of, say, five or six months. Timmy will still be down the well patiently awaiting your rescue. This odd phenomenon is the work of the Plot.
# Animals hate you, and will try to kill you once you leave town.
# Plants hate you too, and most of them can try and kill you, as well.
# Everything carries money, including the hordes of homicidal flora and fauna that roam the countryside.
# After hitting an enemy, it is only polite to stand still so they can hit you back.
# On that note, expect to steal or loot things from enemies that they really have no business carrying in the first place. A common example would be a serum of antivenom found on the dead body of a poisonous snake, or a powerful sword found on the body of a creature with neither the mental capacity nor the opposable thumbs to use it.

Strange quote of the day as found on the web:
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather,
Not screaming in terror like his passengers...

Dream, the third of The Endless, you are in charge
of the Dreaming, all imagination and
creativity, everyone knows your beautiful
realm, but none truly understand it. You are
dark and brooding, creative, and spend a lot of
time by yourself, just thinking. You are almost
as serious as Destiny, but not quite. Everyone
is enchanted by you, but you keep them all at a
distance, even when you shouldn't.
Which Endless are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
Death, the second of The Endless, you are
responsible for ending all lives and taking
them to your realm, from which no one ever
returns. You are bright, positive, happy,
optimistic and enjoy everything about life, but
that does not mean your silly or stupid. You
can lay the smack down when you have to!
Everyone loves you, and they don't know why.
Which Endless are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
ooo. yay :)

the trees rise up tall tall TALL
waving to the sunlight
whispering insinuations and invitations
mock-dancing around
for my benefit
flaunting the wealth of the world
in green[back]s and golds
come out and play...
i'll stay by my pixels and bytes
child of the computer age, while you
beat yourself futilely
against my invisible prison of
binary digits, infrared, radio waves and carpal tunnel syndromes and
dash yourself to death
from green to red
to black
go ask the sky to play with you instead

well. you cant say we didnt try :|
considering that we were a 2 week training team, we did pretty well for both teams. now just if i can hang on to that thought. :|
still. congrats team 1 :) you guys did a great job. seriously.
mm. now if i can just concentrate on the o levels...
oh yes. and we might get suspended. however, considering mr adrian chan's puckish sense of humour, i seriously doubt it.
woo. suspension for climbing out of windows and being caught by teachers who were, tough luck, just there at the time. render me scared.

oh, and i'm still pissed at a certain someone.
